FOREIGN SHIPMENTS

Foreign shipment of orchid plants to SOME COUNTRIES can be fairly simple. Orders can be made using our current Retail Catalog and Price List.**

**(We do not prepare a foreign wholesale list, however, certain items are available in wholesale quantities. In general, our wholesale quantities are a minimum of 25 pieces of each specific item. To inquire about foreign wholesale availability, use the Retail List to fax us a "Want List" of items and quantities; and we will respond with prices for items which are available in wholesale quantities).

H&R Nurseries operates an orchid tissue culture and propagation laboratory which produces most of our own orchid plant material from our extensive orchid parent collection and from new plant material. Although our material is artificially propagated in our laboratory, we are required to prepare certain permit documents when making international shipments.

PUERTO RICO, GUAM & AMERICAN SAMOA.

H&R Nurseries is a Hawaii State certified nursery, permitted to ship orchid plants to the US mainland, under our own state certified seal. We are also permitted to mail plants to Puerto Rico & Guam, using our certified nursery seal (no additional Phytosanitary Certificate is needed). Federal Express handles shipments to Puerto Rico almost as to a foreign country and shipments must be accompanied by an original State Phytosanitary Certificate. Any type of shipment to American Samoa also requires an original State Phyto. This necessitates a trip to Honolulu to obtain the Certificate, hence the additional charge.

FOREIGN SHIPMENTS

Transporting orchid plants (even artificially propagated plants) to froreign countries requires the preparation of CITES documents (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) and a US Department of Agriculture Phytosanitary Certificate. The CITES document is prepared by H&R and the Phytosanitary Certificate (Phyto) is prepared by the USDA, following an inspection of the plants being shipped. Because of the documents and inspection required for foreign shipments, there is a minimum purchase per shipment, and there are permit and inspection fees.

1. Import Permits: If your country requires an import permit, please provide a copy of the import permit at the time of ordering, to determine if required conditions can be met for shipping.

2. Please provide the Name to be used on the permit, your shipping address, your phone and fax numbers, and the airport or city of entry for the shipment (if known).

3. Minimum Purchase for Foreign Shipments, after discounts, $500.00 (if H&R does the CITES and takes plants to the USDA for inspection & Phytosanitary permits). If a walk in customer takes the plants to USDA for inspection, there is only a small charge for the CITES preparation and the $500 minimum does not apply. However, the customer must still pay the USDA for the Phyto Inspection and Preparation fee.

4. Packing & Handling Charges: 5% of plant value, after discounts.

5. Document Fees: $35 to $60 (inspection, phytosanitary & CITES documents) , plus (spray / dipping fees if necessary)

6. Payment in Advance by Electronic Bank Transfer, or fax Master Card or VISA Charge Card number & expiration date, with name & signature.

7. Shipment by: Air Freight Collect, International Express Mail (box size limitations) or Fed Express for foreign countries. Air Freight Collect, US Priority Mail, Express Mail (box size limitations) or Fed Express, for US Protectorates.
